Mental health issues are increasing day by day and can be affected by any individual at any time. Depression is one of the major issues faced by most of the youth as well as adults. There can be many causes behind in having depression. According to the accounts of the American Psychiatric Association, depression affects an estimated one in 15 adults (6.7%) in any given year. And 1 in 6 people (16.6%) will come across the depression in some part of their life. Depression can affect you at any time, but on average, mostly it appears during the late teens to 20s. Women are more likely to experience depression than men. But recently people have taken new steps to come out of this issue mainly through travelling. Many people agree that travelling had helped them fight depression to a great extent. Ways in which travelling helps you to fight depression:

Traveling Opens Up You To A New World

People will have a tendency for you to feel isolated and alienated from other people. Negative thoughts and beliefs start to emerge in your mind due to the isolated feeling and other emotion that you come across during this time. Traveling gives you a new phrase to your life by making you think what’s happening around you and finally, you will start to think differently. Distraction isn’t a cure for depression, but as time passes you are not focusing on your inner thoughts too much and this will allow you to think differently.

Thoughts of low self-esteem are another problem that you will come across when you have depression. You tend to believe that you are not capable of doing things. It makes you move away from your actual potential. Travelling is not only an entertainment rather it is infotainment. It teaches you many things give an opportunity to experience a new place, culture, lifestyle etc.

Depression can bring anti-social tendencies in people. When you are at home it makes you difficult to mingle with other people. Once when you start to travel you will come across people with some of the similarities which will make you interact with new people and have a new bond. Meeting people from different places can bring out ideas and beliefs that you may not have encountered before.

Once you get affected by tending to see only the negative side of your life. You will never think about how to solve the issue that is coming across you and starts to think negatively.
